Animator

Bad Rhino Games is seeking an Animator to help us develop unique and stunning animations using Unreal Engine 4. As an Animator, you will work directly with the Art Director and Art Team to maintain visual consistency, production deadlines, and project goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for configuring, optimizing, and integrating animation features and systems within Unreal Engine 4.

Responsibilities

  • Create character and environment animations using Maya & UE4
  • Utilize UE4 engine-based animation tools to integrate and create character and environment animations
  • Work directly in-engine to modify, extend, or configure animation systems
  • Collaborate with AI programmers, designers, and artists to build elegant animation solutions to challenging problems in complex game worlds
  • Proactively identify and fix bugs and performance problems in core engine and game systems related to Animation

Requirements

  • Animation skills
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving
  • Excellent understanding of character rigging & custom rigs (A.R.T. Tools)
  • Experience creating character-based animations in UE4 using blueprints and engine-based tools
  • Experience creating environment-based animations in UE4 using blueprints and engine-based tools
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in setup and configuration of animations in Unreal Engine 4
  • Proven experience in applying modern interactive character animation techniques such as blending, IK, and partial-body animation
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Preferences

  • Extensive knowledge of Maya
  • Experience implementing IK-driven features
  • Experience working with procedural/physically-altered animation techniques
  • Experience with cinematics and facial animation
  • Experience with animation pipelines and character rigs
  • Experience writing, debugging, and optimizing animation systems
