Animation Artist

Bad Rhino Games is currently seeking an Animation Artist to help us in developing unique and stunning characters for next generation gaming platforms as well as environment-based animations. As an Animation Artist, you will work closely with other animators, riggers, and technical artists to produce life-like animations. You will also work directly with our Senior 3D Artists and Art Director to ensure consistency with art style/direction and the overall project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create human/bi-pedal animations for characters
  • Work directly with animators to prototype and deliver excellent combat, character locomotion and movement mechanics, and cinematics
  • Collaborate with AI programmers, designers, and artists to build elegant animation solutions
  • Proactively identify and fix bugs and performance problems related to animations
  • Optimize animations for run-time performance

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Maya
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in animation, AI, or related field
  • Proven experience in applying modern interactive character animation techniques such as blending, IK, and partial-body animation
  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written English skills
  • 3D math skills
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills

  • Experience implementing IK-driven features
  • Experience working with procedural/physically-altered animation techniques
  • Experience with cinematics and facial animation
  • Experience with animation pipelines and character rigs
